Here are few tips and tricks which will make your move go easier and faster.

1. Fill your boxes to the top and close them.
-Open boxes are not stackable, movers must carry them one at a time which means more trips which will result in more time on your bill.

2. Use small boxes for heavier items, such as books.
-Large or even medium boxes are not designed to hold so much weight. It’s harder to find a good place for them inside the truck. If you distribute the weight between the boxes, once you arrive at your destination they will remain intact, so you can always use them for your next move or even sell them.

3. Use shrink wrap or tape for your tools, such as shovels, rakes or brooms together.
-This little trick will turn your 5 or 6 items into 1. All those metal shovels and rakes will be perfectly secured from rattling and possibly scratching or damaging another item.

4. If loading tell you movers everything you want them to load onto a truck.
-Items should be loaded in a specific order. Adding items in the middle of the job or at the end may result in unsafe placement of an item or movers will need to move items they already packed into a truck to make sure that added item is loaded properly which will result in more time.

5. Keep your pets and kids away.
– Moving is very dangerous job. Items are heavy, bulky, most of the time movers are walking backwards. Their view is blocked with couches and sofas, having pets or kids in movers way pose an unnecessary hazard for everyone.

6. Prepare enough blankets or furniture pads.
– Blankets or furniture pads are crucial in protecting your wood furniture from possible scratches. Glass shelves should be wrapped in blankets separately.
